JG SAILS
ABOUT JG SAILS
JG Sails was started by Jeff Green in 2003.
Jeff has been sailing Radio Controlled Boats for the past 35 years. He also sailed Lightweight Sharpies for 10 years prior to taking up radio controlled racing.
Jeff started with Ten Rater and A Class yachts, and more recently has taken up One Metre racing. Over the years, he has won numerous championships and regattas in the thoroughbred Ten Rater class as well as in his favorite class - the impressive A Class.
More recently, Jeff has developed great One Metre sails, making him particularly competitive in this class as well.
Drawing on his wealth of experience, and attention to detail, Jeff developed his sail making skills to manufacture first class sails for the IOM's, Tens and A Class. JG Sails now produces consistently high quality sails with reliable consistency. Using a series of sail making blocks, JG Sails are able to deliver sails with known depth of draft and position of maximum draft on a consistent, reliable and regular basis. Customers are able to stipulate the sail shape they require, and can be assured of the outcome.
Sail materials include Mylar - both 75 micron and 50 micron, as well as other cloth and composite materials depending on the intended use of the sail. Corner patches can be made from any sticky-back sail cloth colour you wish. Typical colours include white, black, red, blue, yellow and green. Luff finishes can be made with slides for groovy masts, rings for round masts or jackstay lines. All sails are finished off to a very high standard
JG Sails are always on the lookout for new and innovative ways of improving sail performance.
